This page describes what this website collects. Suvi the product has not shipped yet, so nothing here covers a running app or a child's device — when that exists it will get its own policy, and we will say so before anything changes.

The short version

• The only thing we ask you for is an email address, plus three optional questions.
• Analytics cookies are not set unless you press Accept.
• We do not sell anything to anyone, and we run no advertising.
• No child uses this website. It is written for parents.
• Email founder.suvi@gmail.com and we will delete your data.

What we collect, and when

If you join the waitlist

The form asks for an email address. When you submit it, the following is sent to our waitlist provider:

• Your email address.
• Your email address a second time, in the name field. Our provider requires a first and last name. Rather than invent a plausible name from your address, we put the address itself in the first-name field and a dash in the last-name field, so nothing in our records is a guess about who you are.
• The address of the page you signed up from, so we know which article brought you.

If you answer the three questions

After signing up you are shown three optional questions. Skipping them is a normal outcome and costs you nothing. If you answer, we store what you typed alongside your email:

• Your child's age, as a band rather than a birthday.
• Which apps or sites you already use.
• Where you want help.

The age band is information about a child, given by a parent. We ask for a band and not a date of birth precisely so it cannot identify anyone, and we do not ask for a child's name, school, photograph or anything else about them. If you would rather we held nothing about your child at all, skip that question — the waitlist works exactly the same.

If you accept analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and which are ignored. Every storage category starts denied, worldwide and not only in Europe, and nothing is stored until you press Accept. If you press Decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookie is set.

With consent, Google Analytics records the pages you visit, roughly where you are from a truncated IP address, your device and browser, and where you arrived from. We also record that a waitlist signup happened and whether the questions were answered — the count, never the answers themselves.

Advertising consent is never requested and never granted. Suvi runs no advertising and we have no interest in building an advertising profile of you.

Things that happen without asking you

Two of these are unavoidable in a browser and one is a choice we have not yet fixed. Naming them is more useful than pretending they do not exist.

• Hosting. The site is served by GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub receives your IP address in order to send you the page.
• Fonts. The page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts a Google server and Google receives your IP address on every page — before any consent banner appears. Serving the font files from our own domain would remove this, and we intend to. Until then it is accurate to say that visiting this site tells Google you were here.
• Two items of browser storage. Your answer to the consent banner is kept under suvi.consent.v1 so we do not ask again on every page, and the country you pick for pricing is kept under suvi.country.v1. Both stay in your browser and never leave your device.
• A guess at your country, made on your device. To show prices in your currency we read your browser's time zone and look the country up in a table built into the page. No request is made, nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and we deliberately do not use an IP-location service — which would mean handing your address to a company that is not on the list below. The guess is often wrong for travellers and VPN users, so the price section carries a selector that overrides it.

That is the complete list. We have never sold, rented or shared personal data with anyone else, and a business that needed to do so is not one we want to build.

How long we keep it

Waitlist entries are kept until Suvi launches and you have had a reasonable chance to take up the invitation, or until you ask us to delete yours — whichever comes first. If the product never launches, we delete the list rather than keep it. Google Analytics data expires on Google's own retention schedule.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, the EEA, or anywhere with comparable law, you have the right to see what we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, take it elsewhere, and object to our processing it. We extend the same treatment to everyone, wherever you live, because operating two standards would be more work than doing it properly once.

Where we rely on consent — analytics — you can withdraw it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which resets the banner. Where we rely on legitimate interest — holding your email so we can tell you the product exists — you can object, and we will delete the record.

One email to founder.suvi@gmail.com is enough. You do not need to cite a regulation or explain yourself, and we will confirm when it is done.

Children

This website is written for parents and carers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and there is nothing here for a child to sign up to.

Suvi the product is intended for children, and that brings obligations we take seriously. Those obligations attach to the app, which does not exist yet. When it does, it will ship with its own policy covering what runs on a child's device, and we will publish that before anyone installs anything.

If you believe a child has given us information through this site, email founder.suvi@gmail.com and we will remove it.

Changes

The date at the top is the last time this page changed. If we ever change it in a way that affects data we already hold, we will email the waitlist rather than quietly edit the page.
